About Me

Counselor, Author and Educator
Nicknamed “The Youngest Pioneer” in the field of poetry therapy, I am a writer named Reiter (pronounced “writer) who is a therapist, author, and educator. Sometimes called “The Poetry Doctor” (no, I don’t doctor poems) - sometimes just “Doc.”

Place of work:

The Creative Righting Center in New York & Brooklyn, and I work long-distance via phone and e-mail. Seminars and lectures given nationally and internationally.

Mission:

To achieve emotional balance, to “right” oneself, despite the overwhelming emotions that occasionally throw us off center. To offset stress, maximize one’s own growth and healing capacity, and work toward inner and outer peace.

Methods:

Poetry, story, and transformative writing help individuals and groups to reclaim voice, soul, and their innate creative healing ability.

Motto: “No Fight, No Flight, Just Write!”
